Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling den, highlights 150 one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that contains numerous comforts aside from the gambling den, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
